I chose to start this project mainly to shake off my shyness and to get used to being rejected. Moreover, I love people and this is a way to meet some, usually it is also an opportunity for a small talk.

These two men were just finishing their own barbershop. I talked to them, they showed me the place and we agreed I could make some pictures of the place and their barbers once it is officially open. Before I left, I took a few pictures of them.

Another barber, Leo. He was going home from work. We had a small talk and he was OK if I take a picture of him. He is from Albania. Again, a foreigner is less shy and much more welcoming when asked for a portrait.

Mimi was a cute girl whom I have approached thinking she is definately not a local. After a few questions she explained she was born here. Funny, we have been speaking English while we could speak Czech. I loved how natural her behavior was and her cute dog

This was kinda special. I do this project to overcome my shyness and to get out from my comfort zone. Eddie agreed with the portrait and later explained he said yes although he was really shy just to step out from his comfort zone. We both were happy afterwards as we both stepped out.

This day I went out with a feeling „today it will be easy!“ After all the nice people I have met yesterday, I thought approaching strangers will become an easy thing. I was wrong. It is still hard. I approached Richard quite soon (within minutes) but then I had spent more than 1 hour hesitating.

Sun had found it’s way throught the clouds which made a beautiful golden light. Unfortunately it was too bright for the portrait. There was no shade around so I took the picture no matter the light. Klára seemed like a very warm and friendly person.
